Aces High is the Game as June Closes with a Bang!

Two hole in Ones on the final day of the month was the highlight of an exciting spell of events in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup series.

The month began with a European double-header on June 2nd Stockholm at the home of the Nordea Masters, Bro Hoff Slott Golf Club and in Bilbao at Club de Campo Laukariz. Jonas Lohr and Victor Sanchez Davilla took the top spots respectively to secure their spot in the Grand Finals in Belek.

The next week continued in the European theme in Lyon, Vilnius and Amsterdam. Alain Chiron, Laurent Bruneau and Brian Adams were the worthy winners.

Moscow and Frankfurt rounded off a European stretch which covered 7 events in 17 days across 7 countries with Vyacheslav Leontev and Adam Zadjel becoming the 6th and 7th Grand Finals qualifier of the month.

It was off to the final Chinese qualifying event of the year next at CBD International Golf Club on June 20th where Zhen Ge took 1st before the TAWGC returned to take a bite out of the Big Apple at the host of the 1926 US Open, Inwood Country Club. John Hunt claimed the prize to represent New York in Belek.

The following day it was back to Europe where Pisa saw Silvio Corrias victorious at Cosmopolitan Golf and Country Club.

A busy month to date was about to become record-breaking as 30th June became the first day in TAWGC history to see 2 Hole in ones on the same day. In Edinburgh, at the famous Gleneagles Resort, Douglas Glen scored an ace to win Nearest the Pin on the 10th hole while the feat was matched in Lisbon at Montado Hotel and Golf Resort. Winners from Edinburgh and Lisbon were Mike Methven and Miguel Pinto while Klaus Nissen rounded up the list of names to be added into the Grand Finals field in October and November.

In total, the month of June included over 1000 guests in 17 qualifiers across 17 countries and 3 continents.
