With July now in the books, the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup is shaping up for an exciting climax with just 38 qualifying events to be played before the 2017 Grand Finals field is set.
Two hole in Ones on the final day of the month was the highlight of an exciting spell of events in the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup series.
The month began with a European double-header on June 2nd Stockholm at the home of the Nordea Masters, Bro Hoff Slott Golf Club and in Bilbao at Club de Campo Laukariz. Jonas Lohr and Victor Sanchez Davilla took the top spots respectively to secure their spot in the Grand Finals in Belek.
One of the busiest months of the TAWGC Calendar came to a close in Kiev, Ukraine after 17 events across 4 continents saw 17 new Grand Finalist confirm their place in Belek.
The month began in style with 4 events in consecutive days in Prague, Malta, Hurghada and Baku saw Jakub Majzlik, John J. Micallef, Arthur Holleyman and Stephen Minto claim victories. At Dreamland Golf Club, Azerbaijan’s premier golf course, Stephen Minto was thrilled to be heading to Turkey stating: “I’m absolutely delighted to be going to the Grand Finals in Turkey. I played really well today but will be back on the driving range tomorrow to start preparing for Belek in October.”
After a steady start in February with 16 qualifying events through to April, the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup is set to spring to life in May with 15 events across 4 continents in just 23 days.
Just 3 of the 16 qualifiers from February to April took place outside of Asia however May will see the Series’ return to Europe with a double header starting off the month in style. Albatross Golf Club will be the site of the Prague event while Royal Malta Golf Club will welcome back TAWGC competitors once again on May 4th and 5th respectively.
The Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup continued to spread its joy across the world in early April as 4 events in the first week gave 4 more lucky winners their passage into the Grand Finals taking the tally to 15 already.
April 1st kicked off another crucial month in the Series’ calendar at Islamabad Golf Club where Muhammed Nawaz Bhatti claimed 2 prizes. With a gross score of 72, he firstly claimed the Best Gross Score but more importantly, his score of 44 points was enough to secure his place in the Grand Finals.
The Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup is in full swing as spring approaches. Having kicked off in February, March has brought the opportunity of a lifetime to 7 lucky winners so far who have all booked their place on the plane to Antalya for the Grand Finals in October and November.
The month began in Asia as Riyadh and New Dehli hosted events simultaneously with over 180 golfers taking part at Dirab Golf Club and Classic Golf and Country Club.
Just 96 days since the 2016 Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup was concluded, the 2017 series teed off in Mumbai, India,- as 116 golfers battled it out for a place in this year’s Grand Final.
