The sixth instalment of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup has gotten off to a fast-paced start since February with 18 events already completed in the first two months alone.
Following on from an opening double-header in South Africa and India were qualifiers in Riyadh. Karachi and Dubai. Riyadh Golf Courses was a new venue for the series in Saudi Arabia whilst Dubai Creek also gave golfers a chance to explore a world-renowned course.
April began in style with events held at Prestigia Golf in Casablanca and Royal Palm in Lahore with over 200 players competing for their ticket to Antlaya and the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup Grand Finals in October.
The final Pakistan qualifying event took place in Islamabad a week later at Margalla Greens located next to the stunning Faysal Mosque in the nation’s capital. A short trip to Doha was next as 88 players followed in the steps of the European Tour’s best players at the stunning Doha Golf Club on April 12th.
Later that week, there was excitement in Tokyo as Turkish Airlines announced European Tour player Hideto Tanihara as a brand ambassador at the TAWGC qualifying event held at Morianga Takataki.
The task of rounding off an exciting month in style was down to new TAWGC destinations, Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. Bahrain’s golfers took to Royal Golf Club Bahrain while their Abu Dhabi counterparts made their way around the magnificent Yas Links in splendid weather.
In total, 11 further players secured their spot at Titanic Deluxe Golf Belek for the Grand Finals where the top players will get the opportunity to tee it up alongside the world’s best at the Turkish Airlines Open.
